But we never see any tangible evidence of progress.I think we have to admit that a free, capitalist market, coupled with a dictatorial government is a pretty efficient way of getting things done. This is especially true if you look at the character of the people. They are hard working plus have never known any personal liberties or freedoms. Before Communism, they were ruled by dynasties that held a tight grip on on all freedoms. Being a peon is a way of life for them.I talked to one person of Chinese descent who lived in Singapore. She tells stories how here grandfather had 20 wives and 43 mistresses! It is a way of life for the Chinese people. Don't expect social injustice to be dealt with seriously - ever.
