Bernie gaining more support

Werbung:
it's not surprising at all that us democrats would choose ANYONE over Hillary. But sometimes it gets discouraging... almost like there isn't any room in politics for 1) what the people want, or 2) common sense

Based on popularity and media Hillary seems to be winning still, but with the recent news Bernie has definitely been gaining a lot more supporters. Hopefully this recent speech by Bernie will tell the media that Bernie is a serious contender, and imo definitely a lot better than Hillary.

People lost all common sense eight years ago when they decided to put Obama in office. He always lined up with socialist policies. And after eight years of leftist brainwashing, people have forgotten what it's like to vote for or uphold conservative values.

Sometimes I get the idea that republicans believe the poorer everyone else is, the richer they are. If, suddenly, someone with less money was not only allowed to eat, but also allowed to go the doctor for food poisoning, they feel just a little less special and entitled.

That attitude is sickening.

Bernie Sanders makes a good pundit, but isn't a presidential candidate.

But, then, who among the current crop of pretenders to the throne is presidential material? Right off hand, I don't think so, at least among the front runners.

Are we to have a race between Sanders and Trump? That would be quite entertaining, but not a good thing for the country.

Sorry Ann but this is silly.
They buy their food with money they earned and do not approve of being forced to pay for food etc for those who wont.

Everyone has the right to eat. It isn't like they are asking for 6 million dollars in welfare, like the corporations "earned". They just want to eat! Its food! not a cadillac or a 25 bedroom mansion. Its food. I can't understand how people eating is a bad thing. Its freakin FOOD. How is that even debatable? If minimum wage was a living wage, a lot of people wouldn't need food stamps. They can't have it both ways... either raise the minimum wage or deal with the fact that people will have to have food stamps... so they can eat... FOOD. I think everyone who complains about FOOD stamps should have to see a starving person every day and in person... maybe even in their yard. You know... Hitler disapproved of feeding people, too. He wanted people to earn it too... earn it by not being jews. (yeah, I just played a hitler card. but I think it was well earned.)

Also, the rich people have been slowly trying to dissolve the middle class. They've been doing this for decades. Its true that they have been known to have the attitude that having 500$ while everyone else has 400$its okay, but it feels so much better if you have 500$ and the rest of the people only have 1$. The bigger the gap the richer they feel.

You are trying to say that there are only two options. Simply not the case.
How do illegals manage to eat food that they buy themselves ? And they can still manage to send money back home.
It's about choices.

have you seen the sacrifices they make in order to be able to buy that food and send money home? I'm asking because I want to know, not because of sarcasm: have you spent some real time in the south? Enough time to see first hand the lives these illegals live? We get a lot of illegals working on the tobacco farms. They will stuff more people in a single home than you can count. Literally, yes, you can count them. But not on 2 hands. It will take at least 3 hands. And they eat less in a day, as a group, than some people eat in just one meal. They aren't living the good life... not at all.No one should ever be expected to work 12 hour days, for pennies and popcorn, and not live a better life than those guys. I understand not wanting illegals to benefit from the money the American workers pay into our government. Regardless of my personal opinion, thats one of those issues that most people can agree on. But why should the American citizens have to live under those conditions? They have been paying taxes into the government, too. Should they not be entitled to get help from that same government when they need it? Especially when all they want is to feed their families FOOD. Not drugs, alcohol, abortions, cars, houses, deoderant, soap, eye glasses, or anything else that isn't food.

Some poor people cheat the system. But not anymore than the rich do EVERY FREAKIN DAY, while eating their 1000$ plates of lobster and patte.

The fact is, if you want to stop welfare, you need to stop ALL of it... not just the poor people. Until then, certain "posts" who want to stop it ONLY for poor people are going to come across as arrogant, mean, vile, diseased, evil, ugly little trolls.

Yes, I have. I too live in the south all my 60 years.
And guess what... it's better than back home so it's step up.
And it's been this way for generations and still they come here and love the opportunity.
You may find their lives horrid but why would they still want to risk so much to come ?
They know they can better their circumstances by a little personal industry.
It's what made this country great.

No doubt it improves their circumstances. Particularly their families that they are sending money back to. But should American citizens have to live that way in their home country? Should we give illegals a chance of a better life, but not Americans? That money doesn't stretch as far in the US as it does in Mexico. If minimum wage doesn't go up, alongside the cost of living, things just don't work. Until these faceless corporate spawns of Satan start to pay a living wage, food stamps are going to be necessary.

Lil, Americans have exactly the same chance at a better life. They simply choose not to take the opportunity preferring to ride dole.
When our ancestors b came here (assuming you are not 100% native) they did without to build something better.
Why should people be permitted to do nothing and get everything without effort ?
Why us this ok to you ?

I'm more Scottish than Cherokee. I don't even have a tan.

I don't want anyone abusing the system anymore than anyone else does. It's very discouraging. But why should people who have fallen on bad times, after working and paying taxes their entire adult lives, have to go without food? If you want to take away recess because some bullies pick fights, that sucks for the innocent kids but they'll live. But depriving good people of food because there's lazy, smelly assholes taking advantage, isn't okay. Without food they die. Personally, I feel like food and water are the two things no one should ever be denied. I don't care where you think your tax money should go. Everyone has a right to live. I have never turned away someone who was hungry. I've given people I truly dislike food because it's food. Not cash, cars, or lottery tickets. Its food. Eating isn't optional, no matter who you are.

And let me stress again, not everyone should be denied food because there are lazy people who don't want to work.
