1. WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden warned lawmakers Thursday that China is aggressively outpacing the United States on infrastructure.

“They’re investing a lot of money, they’re investing billions of dollars and dealing with a whole range of issues that relate to transportation, the environment and a whole range of other things,” Biden said he told a bipartisan group of senators whom he met with in the Oval Office.

“They have a major, major new initiative on rail and they already have rail that goes 225 miles an hour with ease,” he explained, adding that he spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping for two hours on Wednesday. “They’re going to, you know, if we don’t get moving, they’re going to eat our lunch,” Biden said after the meeting with the members of the Environment and Public Works committee.....

2. If you stumbled three times on a staircase, it's time to keep your body fit by climbing 101 steps every morning. Don't blame your morning exercise on your neighbour whom you suspect of training hard to scale Mount Everest ahead of you by climbing 100 steps every day.

Similarly, when your country's bridges and buildings are in dire need of repair and could collapse anytime like part of the 12-story Champlain Towers South condo building in Surfside, Florida, it's time for your administration to repair them. What you are doing with your country's infrastructure has nothing to do with any other country.

3. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the meaning of "eating someone's lunch" is "outdoing or defeating someone". It's not like Goldilocks stumbling into the house of the three bears, not only eating their lunch but also sleeping in their beds.

When we turn back the pages of time, we could indeed find a country that had literally eaten America's lunch. It happened on August 24, 1814 when British occupation troops set fire to the White House during the War of 1812 between the US and the British Empire. o_O

The vandals were tired, thirsty, and famished. It was almost midnight and the end of an exhausting day that had begun with a seven-hour forced march from near Upper Marlboro, through miles of woods, thickets, and brush until they reached Bladensburg, where they had fought a running battle with Americans in heat so fierce that eighteen invaders dropped dead from exhaustion. And then they had marched another six miles to Washington.

Now that they were inside the President’s House they feasted inelegantly on food and wine, prepared for a table of forty military and cabinet officers expected for dinner by Dolley Madison. One of the Britons toasted the health of their Prince Regent. Another raised his glass to the success of His Majesty’s land and naval forces. Then they drank “to peace with America and down with Madison.” Someone found one of James Madison’s tricornered hats and, raising it by the tip of his bayonet, declared that if they could not capture “the little president” they would parade his hat in England.

Sailors hurried up the stairs and into the more numerous rooms above, where they snatched souvenirs and clothing. But already there were signs of looting by local thieves who had broken in earlier. Drawers were opened and their contents strewn around haphazardly. Whatever was not carried off by the British would perish in the fire.... (End excerpts)

Liberals have zero interest in fixing anything.

In fact they like things to wear out and break down so people rely on them more.

Look at their stupid bill, over half of it has absolutely nothing to do with infrastructure, it’s just more giveaways to their supporters.
