WASHINGTON (AP) -- The House took up a bill on Wednesday that funds a 14 percent increase for food stamps as more people become eligible for the program because of rising unemployment.

The legislation provides $3 billion for the Food and Drug Administration, a 14 percent increase. International food assistance also would get a boost, with increases for emergency humanitarian food needs and aid for poor children around the world.

US politicians now realize Stimulus hasn't
worked for the US economy or the rest of the world.
US jobs are gone for good. Food Stamps is the change Obama really wanted
anyhow. Redistribution of wealth so to speak.

Politicians will now siphon more money from the US middle class to pay for his economic policies.

Obama started smiling once he heard the good news. It's called CHANGE! :)

We need a funding increase because the way I see it, we will all be on food stamps by December :)

Employment in the US is at a record high.
The Fed has been successful in lowering inflation. Inflation is less in the US than in any other major economy.
Of course, you have to realize that increasing food benefits benefits the agriculture industry.
They will produce more food for more people and this benefits the economy.

"It's a win-win for everyone!' the deluded Democrats shout with glee, as states like California go belly up due to decades of bad leftist idealism and delusions.

California will not go belly up.

I have issues with both the food stamp program and welfare system, too many people have been on it for way to long. there needs to be limits. Of course you would have exceptions for those with handicaps which are sever enough. We need the program no doubt but it needs reformed to helping people not supporting them .
