This is true... but if enough moderate Republicans will vote with the Democrats for withdraw or cut funding things could quickly change. I think there is now some hope of this before the 08 election. A stanch Republican supporter like Oreilly publicly broadcasting on his radio show the need to get out can have some effect on other Republican Senators because a lot of their base listen to him (I know not why.. but they do).
