Here is a Libertarian perspective of the last two US presidents. In 2008, Obama was elected as the most credible Notbush, but it looks as if we've had four terms of Bush, two under a Republican, and two under a Democrat who took the policies of the past administration and ramped them up.
Obama, among other things, has:
continued the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. Where Bush sent in a "surge", then declared victory and started withdrawing from Iraq, Obama did exactly the same in Afganistan.
ramped up the Patriot Act by tapping phones of millions of Americans and allies.
continued the spending spree and increased it.
further increased military spending, despite the image of Democrats as being unfriendly to the military and despite having brought most of the troops home from the ME.
continued rendition, despite having vocally opposed torture.
Hope and change, or hope we'll eventually change?
Or, maybe stand on the street corner with a cup, hoping for change.
