Prevost does not support the ordination of women to the diaconate, saying that it "doesn't necessarily solve a problem", and "it might make a new problem"

Prevost opposes euthanasia and abortion.

As bishop of Chiclayo, Prevost opposed the inclusion of curriculum regarding "teachings on gender in schools" in Peru, stating that the "promotion of gender ideology is confusing, because it seeks to create genders that don't exist".

An acquaintance of Pope Leo XIV in Chiclayo, Jesús León Ángeles, noted that he cared for Venezuelan refugees in Peru.

Earlier, in 2012, Prevost made comments opposing homosexuality, saying that popular culture fostered "sympathy for beliefs and practices that are at odds with the Gospel", citing the "homosexual lifestyle" and "alternative families comprised of same-sex partners and their adopted children".

...

n 2001, Prevost was elected to a six-year term as Prior General of the Augustinians. He was elected to a second six-year term in 2007. During Prevost's tenure, complaints of abuse against minors were made against former Providence Catholic High School president Richard McGrath. McGrath was removed from his post in December 2017 following a child pornography investigation. In 2018, a $2 million settlement was reached in a civil suit between the Diocese of Joliet and a former student from the 1990s who claimed that McGrath had repeatedly raped him.

Alleged victims of abuse from two priests, dating back to 2007, said that Prevost failed to open an investigation in 2022. According to the Diocese of Chiclayo, Prevost met with the young women in April 2022 and encouraged them to take their case to the civil authorities while opening an initial canonical investigation. The three Quispe women alleged in September 2024 that a full penal canonical investigation was never made against the priests, leading to allegations by América Televisión that Prevost was involved in a cover-up of the abuse scandal.

This thread is a good example into the inner workings of the twisted commie mind. In his first 2 sentences, he accuses them of being stuck in the MIDDLE ages because he isn't a fan of baby murder and coerced suicide.
Also notice, the OP doesn't have the cajones to call out the actual religion thats stuck in the middle ages, you know, the ones that toss gay people off of rooftops and what not
I hope this thread stays on page 1 forever. It shows how sick and deluded you lefties really are.
Cheers dimwit !

I addressed actual points from your post. You didn't address 1 thing from my reply. Just a bunch of spewing of hate. Thats OK with me but just curious if you are capable of a discussion. Like if someone on the street asked you for the time, would you give them the time or start yelling "ORANGE MAN BAD"? Just curious, because it seems like you have some kind of communication issue. Did they forget to teach the basic laws of communication in commie class?

let us start at the beginning

First sentence, which you completely omitted to discuss.

"Prevost does not support the ordination of women to the diaconate, saying that it "doesn't necessarily solve a problem", and "it might make a new problem"

What is so non-medieval about this ?

Gee....how unfortunate (for the GOP); ANOTHER Pope who's familiar with the Reagan 1980s, in South / Central America!!!

Owing to laborious peace processes and the investigative work of truth commissions, we now know that while Reagan was “performing” anti-communism to approving crowds on the White House lawn, the human cost of the political violence that was occurring throughout the hemisphere was mounting to horrific numbers. As many as 75,000 Salvadorans were killed in the civil war that ran from 1979 to 1992, during which U.S. military aid and support for El Salvador’s counterinsurgency became a centerpiece of Reagan’s policy in the region.2 In Nicaragua, 30,000 people died in the civil war between the Sandinista government and irregular forces, the Contras, which the Reagan administration supported despite U.S. laws forbidding it. The 1980s also witnessed the most violent period of Guatemala’s civil war, which claimed 200,000 lives between 1960 and 1996, many of them at the hand of U.S.-backed military governments."

thank you comrade for that timely reminder of the WarParty's role in suppressing socialism and a fair deal for all
south of the border...

lets us not forget that the us was convicted of terrorism by the world court for terrorism

In 1986, the United States was found guilty by the International Court of Justice of breaching international law by engaging in international terrorism. The case is known the Case Concerning the Military and Paramilitary Activities in and Against Nicaragua (Nicaragua v. United States of America).

The International Court of Justice (ICJ), which has its seat in The Hague, is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. The ICJ is sometimes called the World Court and its principle function is to settle disputes between member countries by applying the principles of international law.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is different from the International Court of Justice. The main difference is that ICJ settles arguments between countries, but the ICC punishes people for their crimes.

The United States if not a member of the ICC for very obvious reasons, but it is a member of the ICJ.

On June 27, 1986, the Court made the following ruling:

Thus the assistance to the contras, as well as the direct attacks on Nicaraguan ports. oil installations, etc., referred to in paragraphs 81 to 86 above, not only amount to an unlawful use of force, but also constitute infringements of the territorial sovereignty of Nicaragua, and incursions into its territorial and internal waters.

i think we all know which side the new pope is on..expect a sombre analysis from him on WarParty crimes ..and an ignorant and vicious
reply from the guilty...

It seems to me that is unrealistic to expect that Leo XIV will make major reforms immediately. I don't see where allowing women t be priests is likely. It would be okay with me, but I don't see this happening. Christianity is a mishmash of ideas that have developed over the centuries.

The basic message that Jesus was trying to get across was that very soon after he predicted, God was going to abolish all that was bad about society and would change everything. John the Baptist had the same message.
Obviously, what Jesus and John the Baptist predicted did not happen. Paul of Tarsus had a somewhat similar message and again, that failed to happen.

And is still has not happened. But of course, we still
see the same message repeated again and again.

Giving people hope for the future is not a bad thing.

I see the new pope as a positive development. But I doubt that Jesus will ever return or that any of the predictions in the Book of Revelation will ever happen.
