entirely predicable as it happens every time

wealthy French looking to move to London should Sarkozy lose

here's a chilling quote from the socialist whos leading in the polling

François Hollande, the Socialist candidate who leads the presidential race after the first round of voting last week, wants to impose a tax rate of 75 per cent on income above €1m and at the launch of his bid in January said: “My true adversary in this battle has no name, no face, no party ... It is the world of finance."

My predictions/hope: for what its worth

1) I predict the French election will not go socialist. Socialism is how the Frogs got into the shape they are in. I do agree that there must be some business incentive which is lacking in the German ruled EU monetary system. It certainly won't be resolved by taxing the wealthy which is the mantra of all socialists. They think money just comes from the rich but they have no comprehension of how business operates just like Obama. If the socialist lose, european markets will rally. Not sure and don't care about Greece. Greece should be cut loose; it has made no progress except increased suicides.

2) Shorting a low volume market over the weekend will be suicide for the shorts. Volumes are so low that the slightest provocation will trigger a big rally. There is a huge amount of money pouring into the markets at the last few minutes of each trading day and these are huge block and it is not short clearing. But if the inclination rises then shorts could be crushed again and I don't think they are that stupid to get the meat grinder again.

3) China will save face and let the blind dissident study abroad, perhaps in Cuba or Russia. They will not let the guy become a pawn for Obama.
