During WWII. Churchill, a major CONSERVATIVE hero, imposed very strict price controls.

The only US president to enforce price controls was none other that Republican Richard Nixon.

It is possible to prevent specific incidents of price gouging.

After hurricanes, there are always reports of price gouging, with ice and batteries being the most common products.

After his election in 1932, FDR used moral suasion to browbeat specific companies. Those who follow his guideline were allowed to display the NRA Blue Eagle symbol, and consumers then tended to buy from those suppliers rather than those who did not display the Blue Eagle.

You know nothing of that Mark, because you are EFFING IGNORANT of history and politics of this and every other country. You are making a fool of yourself here daily with your colossal ignorance and stupidity.

Combating inflation is more a matter of preventing unjustified price increases, rather than actually lowering prices.

I saw the lowest price in years at a BJ's station yesterday, $2.89 for regular gas!
