For the most part we agree here. On the economics anyway. The honesty part...well, he did lie under oath. But isn't that what politicians do anyway?

Look up checks and balances. The three branches all check each other in different ways. Congress isn't meant to be a higher authority than the President, just a parallel one with some degree of power to censure him if necessary.

yea it's quite obvious everybody is sick of hearing about bush and Clinton
the only thing Clinton did wass get a b.j. Bush has lied and people have died

hey man I also said bush is guilty of blackmailing so vyo your posts
don't matter Bush is a traitor end of story and has done alot of blackmailing!
and his administration is corrupt good thing is Democrats are the majority now and don't like Bush and for good reasons

What you fail to realize is every president has been "corrupt" in some ways. Just as every president has been so has every congress and supreme court. Corruption is one of the basic things that occurs w/every lifetime politician. You bash Bush for being the "worst ever", Americans really have a short term memory when it comes to corruption, LBJ bugged his opponents campaign in 1964, of course we all know Nixon (who compared to LBJ was angelic), plus a list of presidents many here would say are the "greats". (Lincoln, FDR, Wilson, the three worst)

Congress may have the power but Bush can read the bills and veto. The only thing he reads are bills about Iraq and abortion. A lot of times on t.v. he seems surprised about things that are passed. The only reason would be because he did not care enough to read.

That's one of the main problems with the government today. The majority of bills are that way. They are so lengthy, wordy, etc that most polis don't bother to read the context. They get the general "gist" of the bill and either vote yea, nay or abstain and the same applies for the president. Their needs to be a bill simplification act to make bills more succinct and in plain english. Have you ever seen a copy of the tax code or the budgets that are written by the congress? No one ever reads the thousands of pages involved in either.

Clinton signed the Republican Welfare Reform Act, and got lambasted by his Lib friends. Yeah, he helped the economy, uhuh. Those measures wouldn't have seen the light of Day if it weren't for a Republican Congress. Clinton was a lying b*stard who cared only about himself.
