1. A visiting European Parliament delegation said on Thursday it was seeking to learn from Taiwan how to counter threats and interference from Beijing....

Defying warnings of retaliation from Beijing, Raphael Glucksmann, the head of the European Parliament’s special committee on foreign interference, led a 13-member delegation, including six other lawmakers, to Taiwan for a three-day visit that began on Wednesday....

2. Glucksmann and his team members are still living in the Western imperial era of the past few centuries. Why the need to go so far away to "learn from experience” in dealing with alleged Chinese threats and “see what tactics can be applied at home"?

Using an analogy, why let your country suffer like a death row offender with the head hanging precariously on the neck after a failed decapitation by guillotine? A sharp clean cut will end all the suffering. Similarly, if you care to use your brain a bit, you could easily counter your alleged Chinese "long-time threats" by getting your country to break off relations with China at once.

Using another analogy, it's laughable to ask your mistress for advice to "see what tactics can be applied at home" in dealing with alleged threats from your wife. Just make a "clean cut" by divorcing your wife and marry your mistress in a grand ceremony. :)

3. The Taiwanese half aboriginal woman has a mysterious smile like Mona Lisa. Unlike Mona Lisa, however, there is nothing lovely in her smile. Rather it is more like a sneer at Fate and her most bitter enemy.

Trump had claimed more than once: "And the reason I'm here is because of President Obama and Joe Biden, because if they did a good job I wouldn't be here." Trump's claim is debatable, but it is rather ironical that the Taiwanese woman could never have been elected if not for the folly of her most bitter enemy. Hence if there is anything for Glucksmann and other “Rip Van Winkles” in his team could learn from the Taiwanese woman, it is how to cheat fate successfully by turning one's bitter enemy into one's benefactor.

As for that woman, she could easily rule for a few more terms and enjoy her high salary. However, she seems to be a natural born gambler who tries to push her luck too far to get such supporters like Glucksmann all over the world. As in the Chinese saying 见好就收 (literally meaning "stop gambling while you still have a bit of luck"), enough is enough. If she continues pushing her luck by courting the likes of Glucksmann, Trump and Biden, she will surely lose everything one day.
