Ex-burglars say newspaper's gun map would have made job easier, safer

Well if public supports it how can they be in hot water? It would be the Cheif who would be in hot water cause you would have protests if they fire cops for that.

because its against the law. and you can protest that all you like and it changes nothing.

What a great resource for burglars and home invasion robbers! Look, here are the homes that have guns. You want to stay away from there and go elsewhere. I'm sure that they appreciated the thought.

What else could they do to support their local criminals? Maybe, keep track of the cops and post a map of where they're likely to be at any given time, that would help them conduct their "business" without getting caught.

there's an ap for that. the missus grew up listening to her dad's police radio. now she listens on her iphone and knows whats happening countywide.

aint technology grand ? used to have to spend hundreds on a special radio and then they would change to frequency bands every so often to make you buy a new one.

It must be easier and easier to be a thief. Just keep track of which houses have guns, then keep track of where the cops are, kick down the door of an unprotected house, grab as much as you can, and be gone. If the homeowner happens to be there, just wave a gun in his face and order him on the floor. Since the prisons are already so full that they're letting scumbags go early, the risk of serious time isn't too great. This could become the new growth industry!

I'm hearing about home invasions with frequency these days.
Back in the day thieves were content to grab the loot and go. But now they know that there really is nothing stopping them in a lot of places.

Yeah, they're feeling empowered.

On the news yesterday they said that there was already and uptick in the burglaries in the areas reported in the paper. They didn't say if they were in the gun owner homes or the ones without.

did they need to ? ; )

Unless there was a coresponding uptick in victim retaliation events... well you get the picture

the other side of the coin is that, if the criminals know no one is home, and think there may be guns to steal, they could target a house on that account, too.
