The RINOs that have been complicit in running the US into the ground for my entire adulthood are feigning indignation that a handful of Conservatives could obstruct their path to an omnibus spending bill wherein everybody gets a little taste. There were no less than 7,200 earmarks in the budget passed last year. 7200÷535= an average of 13+ earmarks for each and every House & Senate member. Conservatives don't dispute the need or intent of earmarks, but nobody in the whole world can give serious consideration to 7,200 requests for spending in one felled swoop. Those individual requests are in addition to spending for the entirety of the federal government, thousands of departments & agencies employing 4,000,000 people. Nobody even reads the budget. They don't have enough time in-between receiving the package and voting on it, even if they felt the need. Legislation is unreadable as it is presented because it is written in a form that includes footnotes referencing statutes & regulations, exceptions, changes & limitations altering existing law and/or being affected by the current bill. To say it's difficult to read, -much less actually understand is a wild understatement. By the time you are in the third sentence, you have been redirected to footnotes so many times you can't remember what the first sentence referenced. The footnoted references have footnoted references to footnoted references. That goes on interminably. Multiply that complexity by 7,200 and then add in the regular budget for thousands of alphabet agencies. Do that overnight. Make value judgments as to advisability. There's not a whole economics department in any university large enough to do it in a week, -or month. Do it overnight.
Congress knows what they're doing: overwhelm anyone who sticks their nose in and send them away in bewilderment. Facing this sort of obfuscation, board members of any corporation would resign and refuse to be part of the charade. Congress has become comfortable with it. We are a republic in name only and a democratic republic not at all.

The decline & fall of the Roman Empire led to the Dark Ages. Whence the American dream? The barbarians helped Rome decay into chaos. Islam, North Korea, Russia & CCP, et al lie right over the horizon; ready, willing and able to help us exit, stage left. We are a house divided and 8 Congressmen need to continue to stand their ground and ultimately change Washington, or the end is near.
