You might want to migrate, from US temps, to average global temperatures, for both land and sea! Also, your 1998 was an El Nino year, which needs to be reviewed, with the more relevant information, about how the top ten temperature years were in 1998-2011, and 2012 will be another record-setting year, even though our solar cycle 24 is mild, and a lot of ice is melting, to force temperatures down, locally.
