You know, radiation detection equipment isn't rocket science. Why don't they stick a detector in where the patient's anatomy is supposed to go and just test the sucker before they put in living tissue? A detector on the opposite side of the beam would be a nice little addition that'd help more accurately monitor the dose. The human body is fairly transparent to gamma rays and neutrons. Is this not done?
