I know someone who is BIG in conspiracies and etc. He says the U.S. isn't releasing their knowledge of an asteroid heading for earth. He reads Bible verses and etc. about this event.
He talks about all of the world disasters (2011 already being the worst and it's still summer) being a sign of the end and etc., etc., etc.
He also says the U.S. has control of all the media and athletes and etc. and that they use "mind control" as a weapon. Not talking about mind control technology, but they do it by showing certain things in TV shows, movies, songs, etc. to make us think the next time around it'll all be the same as last (just like if they started another Y2K type of deal). They do that because they don't want anyone to be prepared for what they are going to do in the future.
