Obama says "no" and that "Republicans are dead wrong".

Do you think we are?

Many things will have to be reversed .... starting with a complete and full reversal of Obamacare. Should we even mention the debt, medicare?

lots to do, but doable. if you know how and have the will. clearly the current administration does not know how much less have the will.

Here's another badge Obama will be proud to wear

Blame Washington for America's Falling Ranking Among World Economies

As recently as 2008, the United States ranked first.

BO was right to point to this being the the most consequential election of a generation (or three).

It's possible that this year's WEF rankings may be a low point for the United States, with a rebound coming in 2013. The U.S. political environment is unusually volatile, even by Washington's standards, on account of momentous tax and spending decisions coming at the end of the year, the ballooning national debt (which just eclipsed $16 trillion), and this year's presidential election. If some of those issues get resolved by early next year, it will reduce mushrooming uncertainty over the U.S. economy, and perhaps improve America's competitiveness ranking.

We've also fallen way down on education. In a 2009 international report, and out of 35 participating countries of 15 yr olds, we were 14th in reading, 17th in science and 25th in math, yet we spend more money per student on education than any other country. This once every three year study will not be reported again until 2013.

Also, we are only 3rd from the bottom, above Mexico and Turkey, for 15 yr olds in school enrollment.

In addition, we've fallen in Secondary education to being 18th out of 36.

UK has studied to find the obvious effect that the parental makeup has on on students
it is no wonder that we're deteriorating.
of course the chances we'll see this sort of data here are low.

no amount of money will yield a good student of bad parents (excepting the odd motivated kid).
the unintended but predictable consequences of liberal thought are staggering. and not in a good way.

I found some horrific numbers for kids raised in fatherless homes but the reports are quite old. It's probably a lot worse now. In minority communities the fatherless rate is about 70% or higher. You seldom hear politicians discussing this. Guess they don't want to be called racists.

  • 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (Source: U.S. D.H.H.S., Bureau of the Census
  • 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
  • 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes (Source: Center for Disease Control)
  • 80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes (Source: Criminal Justice & Behavior, Vol 14, p. 403-26, 1978.)
  • 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes (Source: National Principals Association Report on the State of High Schools.)
  • 75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes (Source: Rainbows for all Gods Children.)
  • 70% of juveniles in state-operated institutions come from fatherless homes (Source: U.S. Dept. of Justice, Special Report, Sept 1988)
  • 85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home (Source: Fulton Co. Georgia jail populations, Texas Dept. of Corrections 1992)

The federal government is dysfunctional due to stupid partisanship.
The official unemployment rate is over 8% and not coming down, while the real unemployment rate is much higher than that.
We have the most expensive health care system in the world, costs are still soaring, and still millions have little real access to health care.
We have a federal deficit that exceeds the national GDP.
We have inner cities that are ridden with gangs, drugs, and crime.
We have a drug war on our southern border.
We have no workable immigration policy.
The middle class is declining.
More and more people are dependent on food stamps and other handouts.
Our citizens are increasingly willing to trade freedom for illusions of security.
The Fourth Amendment has been redacted from the Constitution, and no one seems to notice.

Oh, no, we're doing just great.

I would agree with everything you said except for the first one. It is not "due to stupid partisanship"

It is due to stupid Bipartisanship!
