Liberals May Complain, But They’ve Still Got a Crush on Obama

Liberals like to think that they can put the squeeze on President Obama for the myriad of disappointments to which he has subjected them. Reporters and pundits talk about an uproar in his base and activists voice their frustrations, but the truth is, Obama’s left flank looks pretty safe.

There was a good bit of attention paid this week to liberal protesters who interrupted one of Obama’s fundraising speeches in California. The group of San Francisco activists was there to seek the release of an Army private accused of leaking secret documents to the Web site Wikileaks.

But the protesters paid $76,000 to get into the event and actually serenaded Obama with a sweet song that included a promise to vote for him and then left the scene peacefully. That’s the kind of protest most politicians would kill for: pay, sing and leave before having a second cup of coffee.

Even as the Wikileaks troubadours were in the midst of their high-priced publicity stunt, Obama’s administration was escalating the war in Libya with drone strikes against government forces and enacting a deal to ship drones to the government in Pakistan to expand the covert war there. While the protesters sang, generals under Obama’s command were negotiating a deal to keep a permanent U.S. military presence in Iraq.

More wars, a continuation of the “Bush tax cuts,” the indefinite operation of the Guantanamo Bay prisoner of war camp, warrantless domestic spying, deep budget cuts, a health care law designed to protect big insurance companies, lobbyists in the White House, the banning of subsidized abortion in Washington, D.C., no immigration reform – there’s lots that liberals could be outraged about. But instead, Obama got paid to hear a song about an obscure private in Ft. Leavenworth.

the hypocrisy of the.. i wont even call them liberals, calling them liberals is an insult to liberals, the 'democrats' and the nope i wont even call them conservatives as that would be an insult to conservatives, 'Republicans' hypocrisy over Libya vs ohh say Iraq is very striking, its almost like looking into a mirror now, the political positions of each are reversed over essentially the exact same issue 'human rights' and 'democracy' same battle cry different president , roles are reversed, these blood thirsty democrats are lusting after an extended war and insurrection ala iraq in libya, they champion the US supporting an open arms zone where military grade weapons spread like pinata candy ala afghanistan 1980s taking the same short sighted approach and zeal for phallic victory

and to top it all off, i think the last time i heard a news story about afghanistan and the escalated war was ohh say bush term.. lol even though us and international forces are being bathed in their own blood in a slaughterfest for all involved in Afghanistan and men loosinging limbs and taking bullets multiple times daily, and the democrats are all to happy to ignore, two faced scum both of them

I can agree with some of that but not all. I agree that the left wing media is not reporting on the fighting in Afghan****istan. I posted a week or so ago a report that more Americans have died in that sh*thole country under BO than the 8 years under Bush. The left media is doing their usual dance for a Dem president.

And on the Rs, some Rs are supporting the foolishness in Libya. Little Johnny McCant claimed the freedom fighters are his "heroes." The guy is completely delusional, but at least he was an American hero once, unlike the dip in the WH.

Why is the left media not screaming daily about the wars? Answer, cause the wars are now BO's wars and they must protect their follow socialist.

BENGHAZI, Libya – Calling his visit "one of the most exciting and inspiring days of my life," Republican Sen. John McCain called for the United States to formally recognize the transitional – yet largely unknown – rebel council of Libyan rebels.

McCain, the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the most vociferous advocate on Capitol Hill for U.S. intervention, also was the most prominent American to visit the liberated east since the uprising began in February.

He received a jubilant welcome as residents waved American flags for the first time and cheered in the street as he canvassed the downtown.
