Not true. When I had health issues, I was referred to a specialist twice. In both instances, I waited under a week. One was only 2 days. That's far cry from 6 to 12 weeks. Further, my 2 emergency room visits were both under 2 hours from arrival to seeing a doctor. In Canada, the average is 20 hours or more. Even in parts of the US with socialized care, the average wait time is up to 36 hours... just to get a room!
None of that includes the intangibles, like how you are treated. People who have used both American hospitals and Canadian hospitals, routinely complain how poorly they are treated in Canada verses America. Of course here, they are customers who must be treated well lest they go to a different hospital. In Canada they are nothing but a number that has no relevance to what the hospital gets paid from their customer... Government.
People come here for treatment because they simply can't get treated in their country. Would you like to discuss the hundreds of women from Canada, every year from every province, that would have their babies die if they couldn't come here for help? Not for electives, or experimental, but basic Neonatal care. They'd die in Canada, if not for our evil capitalist system.

You keep forgetting, there is a reason for cost. You can't just cut the cost of something, without having an equal economic effect. In this case, the pay rate for a dentist is so low under socialized care (in order to reduce cost) that no one wants to be a dentist now. Thus there is a national shortage of dentists. Most go into private non-socialized practice, which is costly and expensive, thus very few (the rich) can afford it. Leaving the lower and middle class to pull their own teeth out with pliers.
It will happen here. Thanks to the ignorant and socialist messiah followers, the failed policies of Europe will become reality here.
