Barack Obama launched his political campaign in the home of a terrorist
involved with the Black Panthers named Bill Ayers. Bill Ayers has
always hated America and actually tried to kill people with bombs, that
didn't agree with his hateful views.

First, Bill Ayres was involved with the Weathermen, not the far more violent Black Panthers.

Second, a retiring IL senator took Obama (who was running for her seat) to a number of 'meet and greet' type parties to introduce him to party members. One of these was at Bill Ayres home. This is a far cry from launching his entire career from Ayres home.

According to an Obama spokesman, the two men first met in 1995, when Obama was tapped to chair the board of the newly formed Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Ayers had been instrumental in creating the organization, which was to dispense grants for projects that would improve Chicago's schools.

Obama and Ayers also were on the board of an antipoverty charity, the Woods Fund of Chicago, where their service overlapped from 2000 to 2002. And Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's campaign for the Illinois state Senate on March 2, 2001.

In addition, Obama told the Chicago Tribune in 1997 that a book Ayers wrote about the juvenile court system was "a searing and timely account." This is sometimes billed by Obama's critics as a "book review." Actually, a reporter simply asked three Chicagoans for a sentence about whatever they were reading at the time.

And before it even starts that Factcheck is owned by the Annenburg Foundation:
Contrary to suggestions we've seen in some conservative blogs, there is no connection between the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and FactCheck.org, save for the fact that both received funding from the Annenberg Foundation. The foundation supports a wide variety of charitable causes – a total of 5,200 grants during its first 15 years of operation. It was founded in 1989 by Walter H. Annenberg, a newspaper and magazine publisher who died in 2002.

FactCheck.org is funded by, and is a project of, the Annenberg Public Policy Center, which was established by the Annenberg Foundation with a $20 million endowment in 1993. The Annenberg Foundation also made additional grants to support our work. We also receive funding from the Flora Family Foundation to help support our educational offshoot, FactCheckED.org. We receive no other outside funding.

So how can you believe FACTCHECK when they're paid frOm the Annenburg Foundation

Since the material at FactCheck matches what everyone who was at the meet and greet and those on the boards with Obama and Ayres, I feel it is trustworthy.

If you want to debunk it, find someone who actually knows both men and says they are close friends or 'pal around together'. Thus far, everyone has said they are not close friends, they don't run in the same circles in general and that aside from the board meetings and the one 'meet & greet' they have no relationship.

I have posted information before about the relationship that Obama and Ayres have had. Even Michelle Obama invited him (Ayres) to be a key note speaker @ the University of Chicago. So this shows that they've been pretty good "pals".

Information paraphrased from Free Republic:

Michelle Obama, then Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of the University Community Service Center, UI Chicago, helped set up a seminar on Juvenile Justice in November, 1997, at UI Chicago. This was a monthly function and was free and open to the public. The panel for which Ayres was the keynote speaker marked the 100th anniversary of the juvenile justice system in the United States and was part of the Community Service Center's monthly discussion series on issues affecting the city of Chicago.

William Ayers, a professor of education at UI Chicago had just authored A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court (Beacon Press, 1997). Ayers spent a year observing the Cook County Temporary Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago

Ayers was joined on a discussion panel by Sen. Barack Obama, Senior Lecturer in the Law School, who was working to combat legislation that would put more juvenile offenders into the adult system; Randolph Stone, Director of the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic; Alex Correa, a reformed juvenile offender who spent seven years in Cook County Temporary Detention Center; Frank Tobin, a former priest and teacher at the Detention Center who helped Correa; and Willy Baldwin, who grew up in public housing and is currently a teacher at the Detention Center.

Michelle Obama got speakers for this function on a monthly basis - do you honestly think she was friends with all of them?

OOO! So they were violent terrorist, but weren't really violent terrorist, which means they were not using really deadly bombs, only deadly bombs that killed Bill Ayers girl friend at the time. (she was killed while making bombs to kill others)

No one gives a rats butt about whether they were involved in the Black Panthers. That like saying I'd rather be killed in a soviet gulag, than a Moaist slaughter. Big whoopty freking do.

Second, a retiring IL senator took Obama (who was running for her seat) to a number of 'meet and greet' type parties to introduce him to party members. One of these was at Bill Ayres home. This is a far cry from launching his entire career from Ayres home.

It was his coming out. Yes he was politically motivated prior, but his first open gathering in which he publicly stated his intentions to run was there. The irrelevance of whether he launched hit entire career there is laughable. He was good enough friends that Terrorist Ayers offered his home as a political gathering, and Obama accepted it when offered. Nothing else makes the slightest difference in the world.

If Ted Kaczynski offered you his home for any frekin reason, would you accept it? It would be sick enough if Ted Kaczynski thought so highly of you, and felt your relationship was close enough to make the offer.

Here, let's really turn the screws. If an anti-abortionist murderer, who shot doctors and blew up clinics in the 60s, who said just a few years ago he only felt bad that he hadn't murdered enough doctors and blown up enough stuff, offered to host your first major fund raiser, would you accept it?

Yeah, we've already covered that. Very little funds went to schools. Most went to special interest groups, liberal organizations, and shockingly, Obama and other politicians in contributions. Liberal corruption.

Obama and Ayers also were on the board of an antipoverty charity, the Woods Fund of Chicago, where their service overlapped from 2000 to 2002. And Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's campaign for the Illinois state Senate on March 2, 2001.

LOL Woods Fund went to antipoverty charity? Try $6,000 grant to Rev. J. Wright church of hate, despite the fact the Woods Fund charter says religious organizations are ineligible for grants. Try $355,000 to Acorn, one of the most left-wing voter fraud organizations in the US today. Try Obama's former boss at Neighborhood Rejuvenation Partners, where Obama promised $1 Million to the organization run by Allison S. Davis, who surprisingly returned $25,000 to Obama's Senate run. They invested $382K into Countrywide, and $327K into WALMART....

Now, where do you see help for poverty and charity? It's a typical liberal organization setup to help other liberals, and not much else.

We knew this was bull before you showed support that it was biased, but thanks for being up front with the slanted source of the information.

No, she was no doubt not friends with all of them.

But this is one more connection that they have. In fact, on another thread (maybe on another forum) I put together a list of contacts between Ayers and Obama from just a few newpaper articles (some of them defending Obama) and while it took me about half an hour I found at least 20 different times that they connected. And many of the connections I found would have included multiple meetings within each one.

Their connection runs much deeper than fact check or Obama indicates. This story has been given all but a complete pass by the watchdogs of our government who have a responsibility to be unbiased and objective but are anything but.

I urge you all to stop purchasing any products from news sources that collaborate intentionally or unintentionally to provide us with a warped truth.

Ok, you're contradicting everything that Obama keeps telling everyone.
He said that Ayres was just a guy who lived in his neighborhood and that they only ran into eachother a few times when they met at meetings for the non profit organization.

So far, you've agreed that the Annenberg Foundation sponsors Factcheck.org.Which is the same foundation that gave Ayres $50 Million to sponsor schools in the inner Chicago. The same money that Ayres gave to Obama to sponsor radical schools.
You've also agreed to the relationship that Obama, Michelle and Ayres had was closer than they try to lead the american people to believe...

roflmao....

this post doesn't even dignify a response. It is typical rep rhetoric. It is sad though, that this is what they hang their hopes on....

Since you don't like FactCheck here is another source for you: Politifact

Not sure why the right has thrown Annenberg under the bus. Walter Annenberg, founder of the Annenberg Foundation, was a lifelong Republican and former ambassador to the United Kingdom under President Richard Nixon. His widow, Leonore, has endorsed McCain, BTW
