The Biblical character known as "God" was supposedly omniscient and knew everything--- including the future. So BEFORE he created the mythical Adam and Eve, he knew they would screw up. God was not obliged to invent a talking snake or Satan, after all.

There was no good reason for an omniscient god to go through a global flood to exterminate the entire human race. All he needed was a virus and an antidote. That is, if he actually did know everything.
