That's quite an eclectic mixture of issues.  Is the common theme, "outrageous things that the government is doing/has done without the public becoming outraged," then it all fits together.  As for the "fourth estate", I've heard about all of the above one place or another, so the news is out there if anyone is interested.

Bengazi: Massive screw up with no one high up in the government having been held accountable.

Drone targeted assassinations:  Massive abuse of power, very frightening abuse of power, and no one seems to care.

Syria:  How is it the responsibility of the USA to hold Assad accountable for anything?  Are we calling for yet another US sponsored war in the Middle East? Do we still want to try to impose a Pax Americana?

Unpaid intern who is an illegal immigrant and a sex offender working for a US representative?  That seems to me an issue with the people of the district said elected  representative.  The rest of us can't do anything about it anyway.

Add to the above asset forfeiture laws, indefinite detention without trial, the Patriot Act, a convoluted tax code designed to control the economy, and the general tendency of the federal government to ignore the Constitution and become more and more powerful while the populace snoozes and watches American Idol, and you get images of frogs boiling and the end of government whose goal is to protect our liberty and that gets its power from the people.

Heady stuff.  Scary stuff.
