Record crowd in Portland for Obama

No they're all pretty much cowards when you smack 'em back in the face.

Well then what IS it - did they or did they not F___ you? You seem to be the kind of guy who would get f____ed. :)

But I do think it's rather ironic that the Party of "family values" & intolerance keeps getting caught for things like tolling for gay stall sex in airport restrooms & trying to seduce young male Congressional pages. It appears there's a lot off closeted pent up people in the Republican Party trying to play it straight. That must be uncomfortable for them.

Appears trivial compared with that dem congressmen fag Barney Frank offering a gay escort service out of his house. Maybe that's how some of you little guys got F___D? :D

]Back on point...

No, no - do all the free association lunacy you want - I NEED a good laugh!

there are a lot of people victumized by terrible Republican policy.

I guess you and all they could be called the Army of the F___d - closest most of them will ever come to military service.

[ Well if that's the case... ... that there's no risk at losing more than what Social Security now garantees... anybody and everybody will definitely always come out on top... then I'm sure you have no problem whatsoever with having the government insure that. Making everyone's investment and a guaranteed profit FDIC Insured.

BLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH HA HA HEEE HEEEEEEEE CHORTLE GIGGLE YAAAAA HEEE HEE HARRR YUK CACKLE HA HA HEEE HEEEEEEEE GIGGLE CHORTLE YAAAAA HEEE HEE HARRR YUK CACKLE HA HA HEEE - what a tard! The FDIC has NOTHING to do with social security, and social security on the Obama path will be BANKRUPT in 30 years!! !

Of course you won't because there's risk you wing nut! If it worked that way the government would invest the funds in stocks as we speak.

It's ILLEGAL for the government to invest them - el dunceo! They don't invest it because they want to and do get their filthy little lib hands in the till to use it for their other statist boondoggles - it's ALL JUST PROMISES - THERE'S NOTHING IN THE TILL!!!

Dude!!! The poor old guy has Flip Flopped so much they have his picture on the menu at The Waffle House! Granted he may not remember... but it couldn't be more documented. Come on be honest you know McBush is McFlipper.

Hussein hasn't flipped because THERE'S NOTHING THERE. Oh, wait - "change". HEE HEE!

That's President Hussein if you don't mind... :) and it will be soooo much better with a man with an IQ higher than a potted plant... or a guy that's sadly slipping into the effects of Alzheimer disease.

Who you talking about - Obama calling Matt Lauer "Tim"??? With that, your alzheimer's gamut has gone down the pipes. Maybe if someone held up a card, Hussein could at least remember WHO HE'S TALKING TO?? :D

Free Concert by Popular Band Preceded Obama’s Big RallyFrom CNN to the New York Times, the media hyped Barack Obama's Portland, Oregon rally on Sunday, some comparing him to a rock star.
Unmentioned in national reporting was the fact that Obama was preceded by a rare, 45-minute free concert by actual rock stars The Decemberists. The Portland-based band has drawn rave reviews from Rolling Stone magazine, which gave their 2005 album Picaresque four and a half stars (out of five), and another four and a half stars for 2007's The Crane Wife.
How many of the people showed up to hear Obama, and how many to hear the band?
Here's how the local paper The Oregonian, which estimated the crowd at 72,000, reported the rally:
"Obama was the biggest star at Sunday's gathering -- though a popular Portland band, The Decemberists, provided the warmup act. With blue skies and temperatures in the 80s, many in the crowd said Waterfront Park was simply the place to be."
CNN headlined its 10 p.m. segment on May 18 with "Barack Obama: Achieving Rock Star Status in Oregon."
The New York Times, which ran a color photo of the crowd, estimated the throng at 75,000, noting that it was "the largest crowd of his campaign so far." There was no mention of The Decemberists, and the Times described the weather as "an unseasonably hot day."
Indie rock Web sites were abuzz with news of the impending concert, which was also announced on the Obama campaign's Web site.
Here's the report from the Indie rock Web site Pitchfork:
By land and by sea, they came to see the great man speak. An estimated 75,000 in all turned out to see presidential hopeful Barack Obama at Portland's Waterfront Park yesterday afternoon-- a record crowd for Obama's own campaign, according to The New York Times, and a record crowd for Oregon political events, according to The Oregonian. Just look at them all!
And hey, they got to see a pretty sweet opening act too. Calling themselves the Decemberists and led by lovably literate Steve Novick endorser Colin Meloy, this feisty fivepiece charmed the gathered for a good 45 minutes before Senator Obama took the stump. They even closed out with a sing-along entitled "Sons & Daughters", which had the masses joining the band to declare "Here all the bombs fade away..." Something tells me this Decemberists band is going places. Just like Senator Obama.
Here's how Pitchfork primed the pump for the concert/rally:
Indie rock's #1 candidate crush Barack Obama is sittin' quite a bit prettier than he was a few weeks ago when the Arcade Fire and Bruce Springsteen went to bat for him, but the dashing junior Senator hasn't quite clinched the Democratic party nomination yet. Next up on the primary agenda are Oregon and Kentucky, whose voters hit the polls Tuesday, May 20. Should Obama win a heaping majority of the delegates up for grabs that day, he'll be within inches of securing the hotly-contested nom.
And look who's arrived to give Obama the extra push he needs to get on the ballot in November. Why, it's none other than those kings and queens of the month after, the Decemberists!
There's nothing wrong with a candidate using celebrity power to draw a crowd, but the media have a responsibility to report their presence. By ignoring the free concert, the Times and other outlets made it appear that 75,000 people were drawn only by Sen. Obama's considerable charisma.

everything about this "person" is disingenuous

An estimated 75,000 at Waterfront Park in Portland, his largest crowd to date.

It's scary how someone with charisma but no talent or ideas can captivate so many mindless dolts into making them vote for him. As long as you have a pretty face, offer only hope and change, and have a decent delivery, imbeciles will flock to you like moths to the flame.

Taking a quote from his wife, "this is really the first time I've ever been really embarassed for my country."

I'm not saying he's a jerk or an idiot, not at all. I'm sure he's as nice as they get, personally speaking. But he's been a senator, what, two years? He's been voted the most liberal senator in the US, and he refuses to expound upon his ideas (i.e. details about where he'll be getting all that money to pay for all these grand ideas he has)? Why in the world would anyone vote for this guy?

This is exactly why I hate television. If we could only choose our candidates based on their voting record and a written description of their ideas and not being able to see their faces and their "charming" smiles, I don't think this guy would have gotten out of the first round!

Proof, unfortunately, of how shallow and easily-led our electorate really is.

The facts are these, this was a record crowd for an Oregon political event. By comparison, in 2004, an estimated 50,000 turned out in Portland to see John Kerry, who brought along Leonardo DiCaprio and Jon Bon Jovi.

The vast majority of those people came to see Obama. As if any is needed, his overwhelming win last night is just more proof of his popularity.. It's too bad, as an Oregonian, that it sticks in your craw. Get over it.

The Decemberists? I follow music fairly well, Ive never heard of them. But never mind that Hillary had Elton John play a show in her benefit. Along with a bunch of other musicians and politicians campaigning together. But if your gonna make a case about people going to the concert rather than to see the candidate, at least save it for when the music group is worthy of drawing that crowd.

Sticks in my craw? I am sorry, I was not posting that because anything is sticking in my craw. I know what kind of state I live in. I live in the most socialist state in the union, the least patriotic and the most pretty (view wise) I fully expected Obama to win, and if his running mate were Satan or Osama I would still fully expect him to win the state in November.

The ONLY thing about his record crowd that bothered me is that the news repeatedly neglected to tell the TV viewers, radio listener’s exc. that there was a free concert with a most popular band. You can believe he would have gotten the same numbers without the opening band that everyone wanted to see, that’s ok with me. And if he got double the people it wouldn’t be surprising, remember I live in a socialist, communist place they love Obama as a god here. I just think the news should be more genuine in their reporting. That’s all.

What is a craw? I have heard the expression but I don’t know what a craw is so I don’t know where to imagine you think I have something sticking 

no no no, this is not why I posted. Though I do think more people came because of free concert, the band is local but very very popular. that is not why I posted.

The news for the tons of times they talked about it never once mentioned the free concert from the popular local band. I just think the news should be more honest and not bias. I would say the same thing if it were bias for another person.

A craw...also known as a crop or gullet...is the place in the throat of a chicken where the food is kept until it's digested for further use.
