Pundits have been saying that robots would replace our workforce for at least 50 years now. If it hasn't happened yet, it isn't going to happen. Sure, robots can do the grunt work and make our workforce more efficient, but what robot can pick a winning stock, win a court case, cure a disease, or run a business? What has happened is that the low level labor has mostly been taken over by machines. What that means to our workforce, is we need educated people to fill high level jobs.
