Should the blue states secede from the union?

How about seceding from the union and joining Canada? Sounds good to me.

The polarization that currently exists in the US is nothing short of amazing. The vast majority of red states are down south and out west, though not the west coast as once you hit there sanity once again prevails. Along with their questionable political and religious beliefs, they bring to the country...low average IQs, lack of education, and the highest incidence of rape, incest and domestic violence....no wonder they vote Republican. Without them, the blue states would be a heck of a lot better off. I'm sure many red state dwellers have similar feelings about the blue states. Anyway, I came across this interesting map suggesting what a split US could look like, names and all.

Edited because as you can see nothing has been done about Palin's Alaska. Well, I suggest we put them down with Jesusland, either that or they best change in a lot of ways to be worthy of a membership in the US of Canada.

California should be allowed to secede peacefully, just as it once seceded from Mexico without a war. I don't know about joining Canada, though. With a population that exceeds Canada's, it's debatable just who would be joining who. We should just bring back the Bear Flag Republic.

Of course, the Canadians could use a nice, warm sunny vacation spot in the middle of winter, but the border is still friendly, and tourists are welcome here anyway.

And, so long as the feds continue to overspend and devalue the dollar, their Loonies will bring some bargains as they escape the great frozen north. The new Californio Peso might hold up better, though, so you Canadians better hurry up and tour Disneyland while the price is right.

Sure. We Bear Flaggers would have to have a strong military in order to keep out the illegal aliens from Texas crossing the border for those well paying jobs. Of course, we'd let a few in with our bracero program. The rest would just have to make do, or maybe cross that border fence to the south.

Northern Calif is not liberal like southern. Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington are also not liberal.

If we let the libs take Southern Calif, Western Washington and Western Oregon and what ever those states are up north that are in Messianic delusions and they can all go and be a part of Canada, I would be happy!

What we have going now just simply is not working. The divide between the two party’s is too great and will never heal. I will never accept its ok to cut babies out of women at any stage of pregnancy and call it a choice, or that you can rape and kill a child and spend 14 years in prison and then let out because liberals like second chances I can never "settle" on some compromise, you can kill some kids some times and they will never compromise they want to kill them even to the point they are born alive and still they want to refuse them life.

Let’s have a revolution and there doesn’t even have to be fighting, just give them those parts of the states and make them be part of Canada. Then we can lower taxes, reform schools and actually be a super power again. They will drag us down, they wont be happy until we are power less and the UN is the power over us.

I like this thread, and it’s only a pipe dream but I would vote today to do it. But I would be concerned about my house. I am stuck right in the people’s republic of Eugene where Obama worship is indescribable. Perhaps I could trade with a poor Obama worshiper someplace in Eastern Oregon

We already produce 1/6 of the GDP with 1/9 of the population. Just imagine what we could do if we didn't have to put up with the policies of those presidents from Texas, like Bush I and II, and LBJ! Darned liberals anyway. Here, when there is a deficit, we recall the governor. In Washington, they just let the Texas presidents continue to spend.
