We can just point out that "corporate subsidies" are not paid by everyone.  They are paid by the people that actually pay federal taxes - which eliminates about half the country. 


That aside, the most recent estimate for how much is spent on "corporate welfare" is a ballpark of $100 billion a year.  Great - let's eliminate that completely (ignoring the real reasons behind many of them) and we can look around and realize we are still running a huge deficit and still sitting on trillions and trillions of debt. 


As for "what you are missing" - its a lot based on comments like this one: "Yet billionaires who want everyone else to pay taxes while they get millions in corporate welfare and don't pay any taxes. And people go for it!!! What am I missing?"  What you are missing is a grasp of reality.
