Congress Stymied on $1.3 Trillion Bill With Days to Go Before Shutdown

Congressional Republicans missed another target to unveil a $1.3 trillion spending bill, as talks continued early Wednesday with just days remaining for House and Senate votes to avert a third government shutdown this year.

Lawmakers had hoped to announce a bill by the end of the day Tuesday, but disagreements persisted over immigration, border security, tax breaks and a rail tunnel under the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey.

Aaaand, in the center ring, folks, is the flying Ryans! In the left, see the mighty Donald place his head in the mouth of the dreaded Mueller beast! On the left, watch as Jose the magnificent scales the wall of doom! This is the greatest show on Earth, folks!

Looks like they've passed a 1.3 trillion spending bill that will avert a shutdown while increasing spending on both military and social programs. What I can't find is how long this new bill will keep the government open. It can't possibly be the entire budget for the year, not at 1.3 trillion.

So, we may be re visiting this issue in a few months. Meanwhile, Congress seems OK with the idea of increasing spending while cutting taxes.

Has to pass the Senate, and Paul may shut it down. They have until midnight tomorrow.
