I hope everyone knows this whole drill not drill thing is a big red herring!

Of course we're going to drill. We've been drilling to the max as it is. As we speak there is a three year wait for all the materials to build even just one more offshore platform... then you still have to build that platform.

What Progressives are saying is this and it makes perfect sense. DRILL IN THE LOW RISK PLACES WHERE OIL IS KNOWN TO BE FIRST!  Big Oil already holds one million acres in oil drilling leases both on and off shore.

Being allowed to drill never was the issue here at all. The issue is that Big Oil knows that President Obama will move much faster at alternative enery sources thus for evironmental reasons will not be as inclined to dole out oil drilling leases in pristine areas of off the coasts of states whose economies depend largely on tourisum.

All this screaming about we need to drill is about getting as much of the country locked down for future drilling before there's an administration change. Has absolutely nothing to do with bringing in more oil. They could go out today and drill for more oil all over the countrty and if they could get the platforms even drill off shore.

BIG RED HERRING!
