The term "average global temperature" on a planet with a daily range of temperature spanning more than 200 degrees is useless.The tragedy is that so many people lack the critical thinking skills required to take even a quick look behind the curtain. They believe in science like fundamentalists believe in religion...they accept whatever the press tells them science is saying as if it is gospel....hell to them it might be....and rather than take a long look at the big climate picture, which can actually tell you something about the nature of the climate on planet Earth, they keep looking at shorter and shorter snapshots trying to maintain the illusion of imminent disaster.
