Somalia piracy is not being driven by "toxic waste dumping." It is being driven by one of the worst economies in the world, and no prospect of anything else.

I notice your article is unable to cite any example of any pirate in Somalia using ransom to "clean up" anything, thus proving the absurdity of this claim.

You want to claim there is dumping, fine, you want to claim pirates are fighting some noble war to eradicate it, then that is ridiculous. Part of the demands of the last hijacked ship was that a form of cocaine be sent in for the hijackers to use.

Look, one of the depressing things about Africa generally is that the people are just fodder for those with an agenda.....they are generally so poor, so uneducated and so stupid that all you have to do is promise them......well anything really...... so long as you can eat it, spend it or shoot with it.......that its easy to fool the people into doing what you want with them!

Sad I know but until proper Governance is re-imposed and corruption is irradicated and manipulation from the large mining companies is stamped on well it will just continue....... and it will continue because generally the people are so poor, so uneducated and so stupid that all you have to do is promise them......well anything really...... so long as you can eat it, spend it or shoot with it....... continue loop ad nauseum..:rolleyes:

I guess an Al-jazeera story that offers no evidence of any pirate doing anything of the sort that you claim is all the evidence you need. Sad.

You are one of those people who has already made up their minds and goes out to find anything to try to back it up, and in the process ignores every other credible fact.

its very logical, wow things are dirty lets become pirates ...the normal idea for those concerned about the envirment is grab ak's and take over tankers at gun point for money to clean up.

Its illogical to think its about money , and supporting terrorism, and just pure greed.
