A more correct statement of this concept would be:


If you want to work for $3 an hour and it makes you happy then you are also free to vote for those who would make it possible to expand the amount of available jobs, give you a entry level job, and help you and the economy as a whole at the same time. But if you do not want a $3 per hour job then you should use your talents and efforts to get a better paying job.


This statement recognizes that people make their own choices based on what is good for them. In contrast your statement assumed that people were being told what jobs they would take and also being told how to feel about it. Your assumptions support this line from the OP: "on careful examination, it assumes that an employer can force people to work for an unfair rate."
