I have a better understanding of your point now.  Perhaps the term anti-theist does better describe these groups such as FFRF.  However, it does not describe their rabid hate and anti-American stance against the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution.  I find it to be unfortunate for the Atheists in this Country to have to stand by and watch these hate groups "muddy the waters by calling themselves Atheists".
