If you point out to others that such people, and groups, are actually Anti-Theists and explain to them why that term is more applicable, it would only be a matter of time before "the rest of the people in our society" and "news articles" would also refer to them as being Anti-Theist. By doing so, you would gain the Atheists as an ally against the Anti-Theists. By perpetuating the myth that Atheists are Anti-Theists, you are alienating people like myself who stand against the bigotry of Anti-Theists.

 

A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs.


I'm an Atheist, I don't believe in God. I am not an Anti-Theist, I do not oppose the belief in God. You are trying to claim that because I do not share your belief in God, you consider me to be part of an "Anti-American hate group" that opposes the belief in God. That simply isn't a logical conclusion.
