"God" was so ignorant that he decided that a flood was the best way to get rid of most of the human race.
Of course, a truly omnipotent God would have simply plucked his Magic Twanger and killed off all but Noah and his family instantly. That is wat OMNIPOTENT means.
A slightly less omnipotent deity would have used virus.
If God can know the future, then he would have seen in advance that Adam & Eve would screw up in and would have refrained from creating cursed trees and talking snakes.
