It means the universe is much older then what we thought and it also brings into question and it would affect the big bang theory .

There are several theory's  as to how the universe came to be , there are actually 8 theory's . The big bang was the general accepted theory.

Now we will have to have another ,

The fact is we can only guess as there is no way to know for sure.

Theory s change all the time ,

Just as how life started there are a great deal of possibility bit we will never know for sure how we came to be .

Much of science is at best a guess and that changes all the times .

The first atomic bomb test scientist did not know what would happen , some even feared it would ignite the air and burn the earth up
