It was created in response to 9/11, which caused the biggest death toll on the american mainland since the War of 1812. Once again, the fundamental duty of a government is to protect the country, especially in wartime, and during ALL US wars the government >>>>ALWAYS<<<< has had to take extraordinary measures to protect the people and country. Any position which holds that we should just let the islamofascists have the conditions which allow them to kill men, women, and children in rows belongs squarely in the "suicide pact" interpretation of the constitution.
