Congress, when briefed on the matter, could have ended the program if they wanted to.  The fact was they saw no problem with it until it became a political issue. 


Further, it is not just Cheney making the claim that good intelligence came from these actions, it is multiple CIA chiefs, as well as the Obama DNI director.  Even Obama basically admitted it when he attempted to argue that "maybe we could have gotten the same intelligence by other means."   We can argue "maybe" this and that all day, but it will not change reality. 




By the way, since you apparently have to have served in the military to be a politician please point out to me what branch Obama served in?  Can't think of one?  Maybe you can tell me which one Clinton served in?
