Basicly in order to win, we must step up tactics ( this may mean more troops) and fight better and smarter against the Taliban and Al Quida. I think first we need to start slow and take the time to realy secure a area...then move out..not just rush out all over at once and try to get it all done. We cant win that way, playing wack a mole over a hole nation.

next,  we need to do more on the pakistan side as that is where the leadership is. We must keep playing the balance game of not tripping Pakistan by pushing the goverment to hard to fight  the taliban ...but not letting them be to soft on them as well, At the same time know that they will attack the US for its actions ( even if they support them) for the public viewing. If we cant keep presure on the leaders, we can cut down there support in Afganistan by hurting there planning. At least to more preditor drones are being moved to Afganistan/pakistan...that should help.

3. Its going to take a while, Americans need to just accept it.

4. Start working directly to influence the people, the fact is the surge is not what changed Iraq....it was when the Sunni turned on the Terrorist from within and started to help the US....this type of turn is what will be needed as well.

Fact is Vietnam never did crap to the US, and there was no reason for the people to support the goverment we where backing....Afgainstan aka taliban and Al Quida have attacked the US and will do so again if given a chance...and we offer them a far better shot at a better goverment ( not Taliban rule) even if not a perfect Democracy
