I know that your question wasn't aimed at me, but I've been lurking and I was wondering if you could clarify this. The problem I'm having is that it's very rare in America for voters to have a say in whether or not rights are violated, usually it's the representatives of the people who do such things.The only examples I can come up with off the top of my head of direct denial of rights are gay marraige and maybe affirmative action involving college admissions.
