Ruth Madoff has finally dumped her disgraced hubby in a desperate bid to salvage her relationship with estranged, beloved son, Andrew, a new report says.
Ruth, 70, stopped visiting the 73-year-old Ponzi monster in prison in North Carolina after her other son Mark's shocking suicide in December -- and may finally seek a divorce, said Diana Henriques, author of the biography "Bernie Madoff: The Wizard of Lies," due out Wednesday.
"Ruth has not seen Bernie since Mark's suicide, and I think the remnants of the family will now pull together," Henriques told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper.
