Well, let's hope so.

Compared to Western Europe, the US has:

The lowest life expectancy.

The most child poverty.

The highest crime rate.

The highest infant mortality.

The highest rate of incarceration.

In addition, the Euro is quickly gaining ground when compared to the US dollar.

At one time, the boast was that the US was the greatest nation on Earth, and that was difficult to refute. It looks like the rest of the world has caught up and passed us despite the continued assertions that it is the greatest.

Do the Americans have something to learn from the Europeans? If so, what?

Yeah it comes as a result of the government taking one's hard earned dollar(euro) and spending it on welfare in thier socialist free heroin clinics. We won the war, we dont speak french german or italian do we? Well guess what they all speak english!
Who care about your "facts" from a source that probably isnt even American. Either way, we are still doing better than all of Africa, South America, and Eastern Europe.

It's (quite) simply the "magic" of "conservatism"; aka laziness!!!

We don't compete, the way we used-to. It's much too risky, in the eyes of all of the "conservatives" (that're supposed to dominate our culture; per recent-polling).

The $tatu$ Quo is much-more comforting...more familiar...more American (...whatever that is, anymore...).

Ah, yes...that good ol' (present-day) All-American "GOOD ENOUGH!!" justification for avoiding risky/progressive/inventive-behavior; WE'RE DOING BETTER THAN (what we consider) THE THIRD-WORLD!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!

No!, Americans have nothing positive to learn from Europe, we can learn from ourselves.Do not elect another Failure like obama, in ten months he has destroyed the AMERICA we LOVED . Also, Americans must not elect another DUMBO libe G.W. Bush . So , our Slogan must be : No , to DUMBO and MUMBO, we need a leader who can speak honestly without a Lying Prompter.
Also , no more Golfers or Basketball freaks either. We have one now who says "OOPS,while he SHOOTS HOOPS " as we see "DYING TROOPS".
It may be to late ! I think our Enemy has breached our Gate!

Re: The highest child poverty.

It is because they are too lazy to work. If those 3-year olds would get off their lazy a$$es and go to work in my sweat...ah...factory, they would not be in poverty and I would not have to give up my gold appointed bidet to help support them.

We already do...that it's more-convenient competing internally, than (actually) taking-on the rest-o'-the-World.

Absolutely!!!!!

If it wasn't for all o' that gubmint-interference....with all it's librul child-labor-laws....we could DOMINATE the world-economy!!!!!!!!

According to birth statistics, Europe hasn't actually been doing too good these last few years. That's one of the reasons why they were starting to import more aliens.

Anyhow, folks... we're just about "there" here in the US. That is to say that you're about to get your attitude about our economy adjusted in one H*lluva' major way.

Again.

Stay tuned!

In part those statistics are manipulated to look good by certain countries (countries that do not allow in vivo medical treatments and abort as a matter of policy so they have less sick newborns) , in part the culture of a country plays a large role and matter and gov programs would make no difference.

But if the US went the way that they are we would have less money to spend on defense (something the left would like anyway), but as a result Europe would have to increase their spending on defense. Then what would their economies look like?

I would add that while six areas of apparent deficit were listed there are easily six areas of apparent superiority that were failed to be listed. No one should pay attention to a one sided list. Lets add, freedom, ability to be upwardly mobile, cancer survival rates, overall standard of living, etc.

Consider the stat that more children in the US are in poverty than in European countries. Poverty is a measure of how much a family has compared to how much other families have. A family can have just as much money (or more) as a family in another country but as soon as they are each compared to families with more the country with the most rich people suddenly has the most poverty despite the fact that the poor family in the richer country has a better standard of living. I would rather be a poor person in the US with a higher standard of living than a poor person in a country with a lower standard of living. Additionally the poor family in the US has a better chance of moving into a higher income bracket - revolving poverty is a mainstay characteristic of the US.

Poor families in the US have cars, multiple tv's, cell phones, microwaves, own homes, have Nike's and jewelry, etc. but most imporantly can go and become well off. Poor families in other countries wonder if they will eat enough.

....But, you forgot to post proof o' that, right??

....But, you were unable to find any (actual) statistics to prove that, right??

Oh, wait....this is another one o' those "Everybody knows...."-factoids, right?

That infant mortality statistic is questionable - plus, out of dozens of metrics it gets brought up regularly like either a general indicator of quality, or that we're baby killers. I mean, as if.

That they might live longer, some of them take months off of work out of the year - they don't push themselves like we do, and why should they, they're taken care of for life, if they do get wealthy somehow it's 90-percent taxed.

And how do we know it's not consanguinity making them less prone to crime, let alone statism, and the afore-mentioned general lack of incentive?

There's not much to learn, I mean, whatever they achieve, you know, the pharaohs built the pyramids by throwing power and resources at the problem - remarkable yes, but not paradigm shifting.

Actually child poverty is mostly the result of parents who do work and do earn a decent wage but by a crazy government definition of poverty they simply do not earn as much as someone else yet they still have everything they need.
