This is too funny. Everything that democrats touted as reasons for a change, are now Obama official policy. And the leftist-idiot media is following in lock step.

Obama Administration Supports Telco Spy Immunity

The Obama administration vigorously defended congressional legislation late Wednesday that immunizes U.S. telecommunication companies from lawsuits about their participation in the Bush administration’s domestic spy program.

It was the first time the Obama administration weighed in on a federal court challenge questioning the legality of the legislation President Barack Obama voted for as an Illinois senator in July. “Accordingly, the court should now promptly dismiss these actions,” the Justice Department wrote (.pdf) U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker of San Francisco late Wednesday.

Obama opposed immunity but voted for it because it was included in a new spy bill that gave the U.S. presidency broad, warrantless-surveillance powers.

Now let's think this through....

Obama is against giving immunity to companies that are sued for providing information to the government, but supports wide spread government collection of information using warrantless-surveillance.

How typical of a democrat. You get into trouble for doing what they want you to do, and don't help you out.

But even more important, he's following the exact same policies that Bush first came up with. In fact, he's expanding those policies to be even more broad than what Bush did. Where's the outrage? Where's the squealing about Nazi like policies and the erroding of our liberties? Where's Top Gun spouting off about how he's trying to end freedom?

Here's where it is...

Listen at about 4 Minutes, where the reporter says...

And General Clark told us the other day that this is something the government really needs to look at and really needs to clamp down on, whether you monitor this in real time, have someone actually sitting there monitoring these file-sharing programs so you can see what's going out, so you can put a stop to it, or whether you go to the extent of encrypting some of these documents. So there are some ways you can actually prevent this, but (Clark) says the government has to be more diligent when it comes to monitoring this stuff.

Before it was "spying" now it's called "monitoring". Before it was a breach of our freedoms and an attack on our civil liberties. Now the "government has to be more diligent when it comes to monitoring this stuff"?? Now the "government really needs to look at and really needs to clamp down on"?

The hypocrisy of the left knows no limits.
