    Hóigh, gach duine (hello, everybody)

Newbie. Irish. Republican. Socialist-Lite (I've taken to calling my political brand Socialist-Lite due to the fact I despise the bastardisation reaped upon socialism by the vulgar interpretation of Marx's ideas on society and economics by the 'dictator-of-the-proletariat' crowd. Also Marx's analysis was of a 19th century economy. Our economy and the various relationships have changed and will continue to change. Socialism must adapt continuously.)

Like the forum rules. Short and simple - like myself.

    A Republican and a socialist "light" ??

Would that be part of the moderate republican party that Colin Powell spoke of ?
