Egyptian President Mubarak Will Reportedly Step Down

CAIRO – President Hosni Mubarak is expected to say in a speech Tuesday night that he plans on stepping down at the next election scheduled in September, according to Reuters.

He does plan to stay in office until then to meet the demands of the protesters.

Al-Jazeera reports that the Egyptian Embassy in Tel Aviv is making preparations to welcome him into exile.

Egyptian military police have installed a barbed wire fence around Mubarak's presidential palace in response to protesters marching there Wednesday, according to Al-Jazeera.

This comes as more than a quarter-million people flooded Cairo's main square in a stunning and jubilant array of young and old, urban poor and middle class professionals, mounting by far the largest protest yet in a week of unrelenting demands for President Hosni Mubarak to leave after nearly 30 years in power.

If Egypt turns into a government like IRAN I gurantee you Sarah Palin will be the Next President of the United States. Cause this is on Obamas heels. Just like 30 years ago Jimmy Carter was blamed by the Iranian Crises and Reagan became president. Now Sarah Palin is the next Reagan waiting in the wings.

It looks like Mubarak's fingernail grip on reality just suffered a loss of a fingernail.

Will someone please give this tired old public servant a pat on the back and a nice villa in the south of France where he can play with his billions.

Comrade Stalin

The peaceful demonstration appears to have yielded all it is capable of. Perhaps with the Army stating that it will not fire on the demonstrators, they should proceed to and look for Mubarak inside the presidential palace. He does not seem to understand what "leave" means.

one I think he was smart enough not to be there anymore after yesterday,
2. the idea they will not shoot protesters...I think could very easily end if they try to storm the palace.
