Hmmm, I especially like the part about Congress being out of the loop. Bush is making Saddam look tame by comparison. So much for a free society, democracy and capitalism.

    Discuss.

If you really cared even in the very least then you'd get behind the Democratic nominee and stop trying so hard to be just some hurt spoiler because your first choice got beat in the primaries.

America will finish the spiral in if John McBush gets elected and anyone willing to go along with that over some misplaced pride issue... I just don't know what to say about them. At least not here.

It's like saying... They didn't promote the Police Chief I wanted so I'm going full tilt to back the Mafia Boss! Come on... get in the real game with us! This is too important!

Riiiiiiiiiiight - way overdue needed coordination of government in the absolute worst of all eventualities, say a suitcase nuke going up in a major city, means that Bush is the equivalent of Saddam, the person who killed, raped, and tortured millions of people. The claims of the appeaser leftwing become more bizarre almost by the minute. :D

Well actually the language is vague enough to allow pretty much any situation that G W Bush deems "dire" to allow him to enact the law he made up.

    With no Congressional oversight.

And while we're on the subject, I don't recal legislative powers being granted to the Executive branch of government. We have, from American Gov 101, the executive (president), legislative (law-making Congress), and the Judicial (the Supreme Court). Seems Congress has means to nullify NSPD-51 immediately. The sooner the better..

You feign being an Obama supporter so well I almost believe it myself.

Why get behind a losing candidate? At this point, supporting Obama in the general election would be like betting on a three-legged horse at the Kentucky Derby.

Sihouette is one of those people that would on occasion have a point, if they didn't screw it up with the most stupid ignorant and foolish statements on the whole forum.

Like this point here, it could be valid, but then flushes every single bit of credibility down the drain by comparing Bush to Saddam, while at the same time selectively ignoring the rest of the government that supported the bill (like all the members that originally voted to go to war who were not part of the Bush administration).

Such ignorant political hackery, while trying to claim Bush is equal to rape rooms, using chemical weapons on parts of the population, funding terrorism, attempting to form working relationships with international terror groups, giving the U.N. inspectors the run around before ultimately kicking them out, having members of the family running around publicly murdering people in plain view.... and any number of other issues.

This is foolishness, like most of the rest of Sihouette's posts, and are largely ignored for good reason.

Hey Andy, did you recall the lies used to convince these unwitting accomplices of the "need" to invade Iraq in the first place? Does WOMDs mean anything to you?

Have you forgotten that Congress is investigating this administration's use of false information supplied to Congress to entice them to support BigOil's empire-expansion project?

I'm sorry you're so forgetful..:(...Congress will help remind you though when it comes back in session..;)

BTW, what do you call it when one man or a small group of people usurp the balance of power in the US Constitution by siezing all rights of declaring martial law to just one branch of the three? What do you call it when one group circumvents the elected representatives of the People to take total power under arbitrary whims and "decided circumstances" by those same people siezing the power?

    I'd call it Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Only it's Bush's America under NSPD-51.

Ah... but even if that were true (which of course it isn't if you've ever in your life looked at a heads up poll between Obama & McBush) that three legged horse you speak of would always have a better chance than the one who's been scratched from the race. ;)

11 days... 11 days my friend! I hope you're on board by then. You're gonna feel very alone when Hillary totally supports and even votes for Senator Obama...

Even though you've done a lot to hurt your own Party I think everyone has some misplaced anger sometimes. I really hope you'll join us even if it's after the convention and work to put a Democrat in the White house.

Wow, you must be a psychic. That "scratching" process hasn't happened yet. Unless you don't believe in official votes to determine who wins and who doesn't?

After the Denver convention you can use the past-tense for the verb "scratch".
