Looks like they've passed a 1.3 trillion spending bill that will avert a shutdown while increasing spending on both military and social programs. What I can't find is how long this new bill will keep the government open. It can't possibly be the entire budget for the year, not at 1.3 trillion.

So, we may be re visiting this issue in a few months. Meanwhile, Congress seems OK with the idea of increasing spending while cutting taxes.

Has to pass the Senate, and Paul may shut it down. They have until midnight tomorrow.

So, it's still not a done deal, and it will only last a few months if it does pass. Sounds about par for the course.

Except it will add another 1 trillion to the deficit.
