Most of the government's rhetoric in regards to Iran was made under the assumption that the creation of nuclear weapons was one of their goals. What if this was happening? Well, your government has taken steps to sanction Iran, that's what. What else would you have them do?

Heavier sanctions and, depending on who our next president is, possibly military action. We might even be able to get the EU on board for military action against Iran since there's documented proof that they're close to being able to develop nuclear weapons.

If you want to keep making enemies with the world you're on the right track. The only way to stop the violence is to gain allies in the region. Islam is not the enemy, fundamentalism is and the enemy has only gained from our violence. The desire for vengeance is a devastating disease which afflicts all who choose war.

How exactly do you gain allies in the region? Pay them off? Convert to Islam? Meetings and negotiations.....when has that worked for us in the middle east? We were 99% of the way there and Arafat said FU. Pump out meaningless UN resolutions that historical fact proves have never and most likely will never be enforced. Yeah, sanctions really work well. Leaders pass the pain on to their people and say "look what those bad, bad western nations are doing to my people. All the while, something like "oil for food" circumvents the sanctions and puts billions in these <censored> pockets.

Here's what most likely happens now. Years of ignoring Iran results in Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with nuclear weapons. Mysteriously, one or a few disappear from inventory and reappear in the hands of one of the many extremist groups that he embraces. If we're (the US) is REALLY, REALLY lucky we catch them before they get in or at least before they get to a major US city. If not, well....you know what happens next. Then and only then will these fools that denied that a problem even existed, finally conclude that something needs to be done - when it's basically too late of course.
