It would appear that Dear Leader isnt too happy with opposition to his health care reform...but this?

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Obama is right: There is a lot of misinformation about health care reform being spread around, mostly by the internet.

What is wrong with keeping track of that misinformation so that it can be countered with facts?

Most of what is in those chain emails is made up of whole cloth and bears no resemblance to what is actually in the bill. It's high time we had an honest debate based on facts and on what is right for the country, rather than on trying to score political points for one party or the other.

Here is what I posted on another thread about the misinformation being spread around. In that thread, I challenged anyone to show us where any one of the claims being made were actually a part of the bill. So far, all I've heard are the sounds of crickets in the distance.

I think obama should just get another frakin Czar to look up what is being said instead of asking Americans to turn other Americans in for what they "think" "might" be "fishy" information. Actually doesnt he already have a Czar for health... make them look it up.

I would agree with you that some stuff said is probably bogus but some of what obama and his people are saying is also bogus. I cant say for sure because I can not access the bill to look at the various pages.

I have watched news reporters read right from the bill and it sounded to me like once this is law and you change from one job to another you cant get on that jobs insurance, and you are forced to do the government plan.

I am glad people are talking about it and I hope obama can not do anything to those who have the guts to talk about it.

So what you are saying is that is is WRONG for our elected officials to want to counter the complete lies that are being thrown around by lunatic Right Wing Talk Radio and the Insurance Lobby.

You think it's WRONG for the government to simply want to clear up the untruths being perpetrated to fool and trick the American people.

To you it's more important to stop desperately needed Health Insurance Reform by fearmongering on out right lies and disrupting public meetings than to just let BOTH sides state their opinions & observations an allow the American people to be fully informed.

It's so sad for America that these kooks go to these extremes.

This debate isn't about invading a neighboring country or burning books or throwing political prisoners in the gulag.

We're talking about providing affordable HEALTHCARE for AMERICAN CITIZENS. That's it. Trying to keep AMERICANS HEALTHY and not make every single family just one major illness or injury from total bankruptcy and do it costing the American people less on their premiums.

That's certainly something Hitler would do.:eek: WTF!!!

These people are so selfish & disgruntled because they've lost a couple elections in a row that they seriously would rather see America FAIL in almost every aspect and see that a very documented bad status quo is maintained... then to let the elected leaders... the winners voted in by the American people do their job.

Because that would mean an even longer EXILE for them from power.

Just keep pointing out what they're doing and why. This will be just another loss for the fearmongers on Right Wing Talk Radio... and that's ALWAYS a good thing.

I'm glad people are talking about it, too. I just wish they weren't repeating the half truths, innuendos, and outright lies being spread by the opposition.

And it isn't that some of the stuff being said is bogus. Almost all of it is bogus. I'm still waiting for anyone on this forum to show us how even one of the talking points I posted can be shown to be true by actual words in HR 3200. Maybe there is one or two, but it isn't in the first 80 or so pages, because I checked them all out and they're all phony.

I guess public education did fail after all. Are you seriously so dense? They don't want you sending in the names of your neighbours who you hear these rumours from. They just want the rumour itself. The point of this is that they can't really find out what quickly replicating rumor the mill is pushing at the given moment. This way they can get more information on the B.S. that's floating out there so they can set the record straight. The idea here is less about government silencing the perpetrators of the rumors, but rather setting the record straight with truth. This is a strawman if I've ever seen one. Seriously, think before you type.

This is what the "Stalin" Obama plan has led to. And why would anyone want misinformation out there in the first place... unless they were just simply trying to derail something with a LIE!

The government doesn't care who's saying it... except in the cases of intentional lies being directly sent out by known Republicant & Conservative groups, and then just so they can document to the American people who's lying and why.

The whole thing is they want to get a hold of these e-mail chains... which are completely the property of the receiver once they get it... and send out the true proposals.

Exactly who would be against the truth? Only those who want the LIE to stick.

This is so stupid because it shows that the Republicants are so desperate that they're willing to use a tactic that blew them right out of the water backfiring during the election.

Sure and when people start emailing them "misinformation" about 9/11 maybe they will finally tell us WHAT REALLY HAPPEND!! (The truth)

More bad than good will result from this plan.. Its all about CONTROL!!
