I went to publix this evening to get subs for use my gals daughter and a buddy of mine who stopped by to borrow some fishing gear. I had several so I wrote them down and handed the guy the note on what we wanted thinking it would be easier for him . he handed it back and said I cant read cursive.. I was shocked he was at least 21 . I forgot they had stopped teaching it.
Just felt weird

Thst reminds me of a visit to the grocery a few weeks ago when the store shelves were sometimes bare and I asked a young woman who worked there where the margarine was and she asked, "What's that?"

She had a British accent, I think.

Pretty girl, 20ish, olive complexion.

my reply is exactly on point. Kids aren't taught cursive writing or analog clocks these days. duh.
both are symptoms of the same situation.
