there are always guns, either here or across the border.
as long as power exists, there are those who will covet it.
and power qwill always exist even if its just who has the bigger stick.

True but there is no way to set up a society where this isnt the case. The US could be overthrown if someone had a big enough "stick".

we will end not with a bang but a wimper. we'll get repossessed. for the time being, we have the biggest stick.

that being said, China has enough people to build a land bridge with their dead bodies and no qualms about the process. but like Russia, we're too damn large to conquer.

And anarchy couldnt provide the same kind of defense?

And anarchy couldnt provide the same kind of defense?

Right. In anarchy there is no government therefore there is no organized cooperation among people to mount a defense.

300 million of us with whatever we have in our garages acting individually against the Chinese army would stand no chance.

The formation of governments can easily be stopped... No money no guns, no guns no coercion, no coercion no state.
There we governments before there were guns so eliminating guns cannot stop the formation of governments. Not that guns could be eliminated by any force other than a government.

There was coercion long before there were guns and money. Coercion cannot be stopped.

I suspect governments existed before all three: money, coercion and guns.

The only way to stop the formation of governments would be to stop all cooperation among people. And since much cooperation is beneficial that would be a pretty awful world.

1)Guns as in the military and police force the state needs coercion. You can have both guns and money and not be coercive. You focus too much on the specifics and not enough on the fact if the state did not have the tools it need to coerce and oppress that they would no longer be able to do so.

2) Thats total batsh1t balls to the wall lunacy, cooperation is how things occur outside of the coercion of a state. A handful of individuals working together of their own free will does not make a state. In fact in a state there is a complete lack of cooperation everything that appears to be cooperation has been contrived and forced.
